Artwork that reflects real issues in our society. If as artists we don't make people stop and stare, think, or ask questions that are often neglected by politicians and the press. What is the role of the artist, when CAD and digital photography can be accessed by anyone. Striking images can now be produced at home with minimum effort, by anyone with access to a PC and the right software.Artists therefore should now produce work that above all original and visually challenging. Challenging us the viewing public to ask, why, how and what if.
Inaugural exhibition.
All About M.E. A visual and poetic reflection of the daily management of Chronic Fatigue/ M.E. A personal account of managing this life changing condition. A condition with an estimated 250,000 sufferers in the UK. Prints of all the poems and work are for sale, with the proceeds going to ME / Chronic Fatigue charities. I am still looking for a venue to hold an exhibition of the larger pieces of this work. SEE FRONT PAGE.
Second Exhibition.
Now Changed No longer Treescapes. Exploring the impact trees have on our lives and the possibility of their demise through mans ignorance and stupidity. Selected prints and originals for sale with proceeds going to local and national charities. Treescapes will be developed at another time.
Due to the fact that a very important local education trust has had much needed funds withdrawn, the theme of this exhibition will be a retrospective of the house artists work. This will hopefully raise much needed funds for leasside, an educational trust. www.leaside.co.uk
Third exhibition. Lifes a Beach. Artwork reflecting the coastline of this amazing island. It is hoped that proceeds will go to the RNLI. The gallery will also showcase 'new artists' to enable them to get feedback, and provide them with an oportunity present their work to a wider community.
The charities who will receive funding from the artwork on this site will be confirmed prior to the commencement of any exhibition. Artists themselves will be encouraged to support their own charities from the sale of their work from this site. A tally of donations to respective charities will be found in the office / accounts department.
